mwaiseni ba dreamer,

Hi, I’m Suwilanji Madelyn, welcome to Ukhani.

I started Ukhani because I wanted to see more Zambian stories, knowledge, and ideas online,  real, practical, and rooted in who we are.

For a long time, I noticed how hard it was to find clear information about starting a business in Zambia, finding a job, or understanding how people here are creating change. So I decided to build the kind of platform I wished existed; a place where learning, inspiration, and identity meet.

Ukhani is my journey of discovering Zambia; its people, its ideas, and its power to build. It’s a space for anyone who believes that Zambians can create their own opportunities, tell their own stories, and shape their own future.

Why Ukhani Matters

I believe information is power, especially when it’s shared freely and locally. Ukhani exists to make Zambian knowledge accessible, so more of us can start something, grow something, and build lives that matter.

It’s not about being perfect. It’s about starting where you are, learning as you go, and finding inspiration in the everyday stories around us.

A Bit About Me

I’m a young Zambian woman, still learning, still building, still figuring it out,  just like many of you. Ukhani isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about asking the right questions, sharing the lessons, and celebrating the people who keep pushing forward.

When I’m not writing or researching, I’m probably listening to Zambian podcasts, taking photos of markets, or asking too many questions about how things work.

If you care about entrepreneurship, career growth, and Zambian innovation, you’re in the right place.
